DIRECTORS AND COACHES

Sara DeCosta – Rhode Island Sting 2018 Season Co-Head Coach U14 Team. Skills Coach.  Goalie Coach.  She is the co-Founder of the Rhode Island Sting in 2012.  An Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist Goaltender from the 1998 and 2002 Olympic Games.  She is a Providence College and USA Hockey Hall of Fame Member.  She served as the assistant coach for Nobles and Greenough and Harvard University.  Sara has coached with the Rhode Island Sting at U8, U10, U12 and U14 levels over the past 7 seasons.  Along with her duties as head or assistant coach, Sara is our Goalie Coach and Mentor.  Sara graduated from Providence College with a degree in Social Sciences.

Vicki Movsessian – Rhode Island Sting 2018 Season Head Coach U8, U12 and Co-Head Coach U14 Teams. Skills Coach.  She is the co-Founder of the Rhode Island Sting in 2012.  She has coached with the Rhode Island Sting at U8, U10, U12 and U14 levels over the past 7 seasons.  An Olympic Gold Medalist from the 1998 Olympic Games.  Vicki is a Providence College and USA Hockey Hall of Fame Member.  She served as the assistant coach for Northeastern University and Providence College.  Vicki graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration.

Catherine LeBoeuf –  2018 Season Assistant Coach U12 and U14 Teams.  Skills Coach

Joined Rhode Island Sting for the 2017 Season assisting with our U12 and U14 Teams.  She also works with our U10 Teams as a skills coach.  A 2017 Graduate of Brown University majoring in Engineering.  Before Brown, Coach Catherine graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brewster Academy.  She was a four-sport athlete and four-year letter winner and co-captain for the both ice hockey and field hockey teams.  She also earned three letters on the crew team and one on the softball team.  During her senior year, led the ice hockey team to the Lake Region championship and was selected for the All-State team.

 

John Lobisser – 2018 Season Co-Head Coach U8 and Assistant Coach U10 and U12 Teams.  Skills Coach.   Bio Coming Soon.

 

Brendan Whittet – Rhode Island Sting 2018 Season Assistant Coach U12 and U14 Teams.  Skills Coach.  He is entering his 6th Season with the Rhode Island Sting.  Brendan has worked with U8, U10, U12 and U14 Teams.  Brendan is the Head Coach of the Brown University Men’s Hockey Team.  He also served as an assistant coach at Dartmouth, Brown and Colby.  He is a graduate of Brown University with a degree in Organizational Behavior and Management.
