Saturday, our team competed against other U12 Select programs in a 3 game, single day jamboree. Prep school coaches were on hand watching and answering questions about the prep school process. Families participated in a informative prep school session during the break. The final step - a tour of the school before our final game.
A series of 3 games leading up to the finals... Our record 2-1. The Rhode Island Sting U12s had another chance to redeem their only loss heading into the finals. The weekend proved to be a cold one, but our team was on fire! Sting controlled the play, worked together as a team and come out with a victory. Congratulations on a great win!

Community Service Project
Members of the Rhode Island Sting and the Providence College Women's Hockey Team join together to help local families and children in need. This year the Sting, along with the PC Friars, adopted a local family in need. Each team gathered holiday gifts and toys from the family's wish list as well as dozens of other necessities like clothing and shoes. The experience of wrapping these gifts for a family of 7 was a very fun time. The girls shared cookies, treats and juice boxes with the College Team! The outcome - overwhelming - it was a blessing to see the amount of items the Sting and PC Women's Team were able to donate. We are certain this family in need will have a holiday they will never forget. Thank you to the Women's Team for coordinating this with us. A heartfelt thank you to the generosity of our Sting Community for making a difference in the lives of a local family! Happy Holidays!
Hundreds gathered for the Rhode Island Sting Holiday Skate! Fun was had by all as players, friends and family skate, enjoyed some truly Rhode Island classics - Caserta, Wrights Salad, and Allie's Donut Cake. Thank you to all the families who helped out and supplied extra goodies! The highlight of the night was Coach Brendan's bellowing gift swap poem! The girls had a great time! Happy Holidays to all!
Members of RI Sting Teams gathered in the spooky spirit of Halloween! Players carved pumpkins, roasted marshmellows, enjoyed hot chocolate and many other treats! Thank you to our gracious hosts for the grilled cheese, pizza, amazing soup and chili!
Rhode Island Sting U8 program full of energy! The team currently competes in the Boys Southern New England Hockey Conference - SNEHC and the New England Girls Hockey League - NEGHL. Our team has enjoyed participating in jamborees, cross ice and full ice games. The competition and smiles are awesome! Great job girls!
Waterville Valley, New Hampshire - February 3-5, 2017
Rhode Island Sting U14 Gold wins Waterville Valley Invitational Tournament this past weekend. The girls swept their opponents going 4-0 for the weekend, with an amazing 19 goals for and only 2 goals against and posted 2 shutouts. It was a great team effort with all of the scoring spread out through much of the team. The defense along with outstanding goaltending proved tough to beat, allowing only 2 goals in 12 periods of hockey. Congratulations to the girls!!
U10 and U12 Gold Teams traveled over the border to Ottawa Canada. Our u10 Team hit the ice - inside and outside. The trip proved to be a huge success. Playing international competition like Nepean, Glocester Stars, Etobicoke Dolphins, and Ottawa Ice was awesome! The girls worked hard! The girls hit the ice outside to skate the Canal and experience Ottawa Winterlude at the Jacque Cartier Park! Congratulations Team! The trip was FUN. Thank you to Seth Francis and Holly Andersen for your expert photography!
The Providence College Women's Hockey invited members of the U8, U10, U12 and U14 Teams to join them in holiday wrapping for local area families in need. The night started with pizza following a RI Sting Game at the College. It wasn't long before the Sting girls and PC Players were hard at work wrapping close to a hundred gifts. Thank you to the PC Women's Team for coordinating!
